The retreat

Leave the noise behind and settle into the elemental beauty of the the Diani Coast: wide skies, stunning white coral beaches, crystal clear seas and stunning sunrises.

This retreat is spacious by design. Each day brings thoughtful yoga, nourishing seasonal food and time outside, balanced with long afternoons that belong entirely to you. Practice takes place in beautiful locations in and around Warandale, with options for every body and no pressure to perform.

Come for deep rest, good company and a renewed sense of possibility. You do not need to be an experienced practitioner — only curious, open, and ready to slow down.

The place

Arrive somewhere remarkable

Warandale Cottages

Warandale Cottages are situated approximately 25 km south of Mombasa at Diani Beach. The Cottages are sited on a coral outcrop between two of Dianis beautiful beaches.

As you drive into Warandale Cottages through the indigenous Diani forest, you may come across several species of wildlife including Bush babies, Grey Duiker, Dik-dik, Monitor lizards, Colobus, Vervet and Sykes monkeys. We do not recommend feeding the monkeys, any encouragement will soon lead to uninvited visits into your kitchen.

Diani Beach

Kenya´s Indian Ocean coastline offers a wealth of exciting new experiences for the visitor; from the centuries old town of Lamu where the only form of transport are still the donkey and the dhow to the bustling modern seaport of Mombasa; from the thrill of of deep sea fishing, to the tranquility of walking the golden sands of Diani Beach.

Local Activities

A beautiful 9 hole golf course is just half a mile away – and along the beach one finds deep-sea fishing, scubadiving, wind and kite surfing, tennis, squash etc.

There are exciting African, Indian, Chinese, Italian and other special restaurants in the area. Most of these will provide transport.

The experience

Each morning begins with a steady, breath-led vinyasa practice in the open-sided shala as the sun reaches the valley. Evenings are slower: yin, restorative postures, pranayama and guided relaxation.

Sessions are suitable for all levels, with options offered throughout. Afternoons are free for hiking, swimming, journalling or simply doing nothing at all.

The people behind your retreat

About us

Caitlin and her family have been visiting Diani Beach for decades. She runs the property and will act as your local guide.

Our retreats are small by design so that every guest is seen, supported and given room to rest. We care about good food, honest teaching and leaving people a little more at home in themselves than when they arrived.

    • Vinyasa yoga, power yoga, restorative and Hatha.
    • Pilates.

    Harri

    Yoga Instructor

Harri has been teaching yoga together for a decade, in studios, community halls and wild places. She is a highly skilled yoga and Pilates teacher known for her calm, supportive manner and clear, intelligent instruction. She specialises in creating classes that are accessible yet quietly challenging, offering thoughtful options so everyone feels both safe and encouraged to explore their potential. Her teaching blends mindful breathwork, flowing movement and a practical understanding of how modern life, stress and injury show up in the body, making her particularly well suited to guests seeking both reset and a refined physical practice. Before moving into yoga, Harri was a classically trained professional ballet dancer and brings that depth of professional movement experience into her work as a teacher. An injury during her ballet career led her to yoga as a tool for recovery and resilience, and ultimately into advanced teacher training and nearly a decade of experience teaching in London studios and community settings. On this yacht-based retreat, she combines technical precision with warmth, humour and genuine care, helping guests to move with confidence, breathe more easily and fully enjoy the retreat.
